The year was 1996 when Selma played the part of a character named Pretzel Cart who was a lesbian character. A tough role to play for a first movie considering Selma is a straight girl however she nailed the role and was immediately asked to do more work in acting. In the same year she played another easy role in the movie Brian Candy.

A year later Selma played one role that millions of people will remember from the movie Scream 2 but three years later she was one of the main actresses in Cruel Intentions and this was another blockbuster movie.
